Chair - Nagaland 1
This tribal chair is from Nagaland in northeast India. It's hand-carved from a single piece of solid, teak wood and has metal strapping throughout. There are no screws or cuts anywhere. It's the perfect accent piece for any room or corner. No two pieces are exactly alike.
Nagaland is a relatively inaccessible and unexplored area of India which borders Myanmar. Nagaland furniture is highly coveted because only a minimal amount of furniture can be exported, and with strict regulation. Export requires permission from the government. The tribes live quite remotely making their products difficult to access.

This is a vintage one-of-a-kind item. In true wabi sabi style, each piece is created by hand and and not mass-produced so there might be slight irregularities. These irregularities are not considered flaws. They are part of the design and what makes each piece unique and special.
