Rug 6 / Boujad
Boujad rugs are woven at the edge of the Middle Atlas mountains, and made of natural virgin wool, often decorated with colored materials such as vegetable dye or threads.
These rugs are hand woven by the Berber woman. All rugs are handmade, double knot 100% natural undyed wool.
This particular piece blends old with new. The rug has a wool base with some cotton detail woven into the pyramid diamond pattern on the second half of the rug, contrasting with the black. This is a new trend we are seeing in response to the shift in Western interest.
